Lee Stewart is a sustainability professional with over 20 years’ experience working across Australia, UK, Japan and New Zealand in startups, consulting, and large multinationals. He is a qualified climate reality speaker and mentor trained by Al Gore and has delivered over 100 speaking engagements on sustainability and climate change. He has worked for Global IT Company Fujitsu as the Regional Head of Sustainability where he developed several sustainability technology solutions including the multi award-winning Digital Owl Solution and was responsible for implementing the data centre energy efficiency rating tools and the global lead for IT Sustainability Consulting. He was also the only non-Japanese employee on the global sustainability team regularly reporting to the president in Tokyo.  


Most recently, Lee was Head of Sustainability at Fonterra, New Zealand's largest business where he led a team that was responsible for setting the sustainability strategy, ambition, communication, governance, and climate related disclosures.  He was the key spokesperson on sustainability for the group fronting media, government, activists and NGOs.

At Fonterra he also managed the external sustainability advisory panel which reported to the board and was responsible for instigating several firsts for the group which included, modern slavery report, net zero demonstration farm and a sustainability graduate program.  One of his biggest notable achievements was bringing together the Sustainable Business Council and other agriculture sector leaders and government to achieve commitment of over $338M investment in research and developing funding over four years to help develop tools and technology to reduce on farm emissions quicker.


In late 2022 Lee left his role at Fonterra to start his own consulting business ESG Strategy and works with clients in New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific.  His main focus is on advising boards and senior executive teams to enhance and develop meaningful sustainability and ESG strategies. Some of his work includes developing the ESG Strategy for some of the largest companies in Australia and New Zealand, he is also working pro bono for The Kingdom of Tonga as a strategic advisor on Sustainability, Circular Economy and Climate Change.
